Prabhu is a much-admired professor of computer science at Iowa State University. With over 20 years of academic experience, he is well known for his lucid explanations of complex concepts. Many students have remarked that "he's the best professor I've had at ISU."
He received his Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, India; his Masters degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India; and his Ph.D degree in Computer Science from Washington State University. Since 1983 he has been on the faculty of the Department of Computer Science at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. None of these institutions seriously interfered with his education.
Prabhu is an avid bridge player and participates in regional and national tournaments in the United States, India, and Europe. He enjoys jogging, although in recent times his jogs have turned into slow canters.
